Japanese Forest

Public

Enthralled by the principals of Japanese Garden design, HIDCO invited us to design a Japanese Forest in 5 acers of park next to the central lake in the Eco Park. The principles of harmony with nature, asymmetry, odd numbers, using perspectives to alter depth, distance and size perspectives, have been attempted in weaving experiences around the garden. The main elements across the garden are Bamboo forest, Small Buddha sculptures alcove, Wisteria arbour, Monastery with a centrally located pagoda, Replica of Shinto series from movie- Memoirs of Geisha in red, Forest on mounds, Pond, Wish fountain with Japanese demi God, Bamboo Lights, Japanese food outlet and Lawn with lake view. A natural path leads the visitor through above elements. The pathway and spaces around are rendered with plantations which conceal and reveal specific views to the central pond and other elements.
