Art has been the most successful expression for human civilization. Our connection with nature, knowledge, culture, spirituality, social values, skill and technology find continuity when we become expressive – when we are articulate and aesthetic.
To sensitize our culture in this perspective and allow the community to engage in art and creativity, this academy in Raipur has been conceived. It is a place where faculties in both fine arts and performing arts would be taught and nurtured. The courses include short term learning, hobby development, development of advanced professional skills, entrepreneur courses and creative promotional support.
The site ( less than an acre ) is a compromised portion of a Suwarnabhumi , a 400 acre township in Raipur , abutting to a nala ( open drain ) and substation . The design intervention worked on 2 parallel aspects – to develop the academy site and to revitalize the nala precinct.
